Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Grand Design Momentum, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Spring System. This system is going to be designed to replace your leaf springs and have additional shock absorbers that you'll add on in order to give you a more comfortable ride when you're going down the road. From the factory, a lot of these rigs, especially the bigger ones, the leaf springs that come on them are not enough to give you a comfortable ride. A lot of times, the manufacturers of these RVs will just take the same leaf springs and put 'em on their entire fleet just because they're good enough for the axles that they're attached to, but they're not good enough for the weight of the camper itself. Now, here's what they're gonna look like installed, and this is going to be a great pretty easy upgrade to install that's gonna give you a lot better suspension because of the ability to have a little bit more travel, and that just means a better towing experience overall. Now our previous equalizer here, you can see that it does have rubber, and that's gonna allow this to kind of move up and down and have that cushion. These are pretty loose here, which is fine. It does have that movement, and it needs to remember about I'd say an inch and a half. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizer on 2018 Keystone Outback Toy Hauler. Now your standard equalizer is just kind of a metal piece that transfers from the shackles on your leaf springs. So as one kind of goes up it'll kind of even it out and keep it equal. Well, what if you could add a little bit of cushion here to just soften up a little bit of blow And that's what the AllTreks gonna do. It is gonna allow for 4 inches of suspension travel. You have this rubber here that's 40% more than a typical equalizer that has rubber and it also has some nice brass sleeves here for our new wet bolts. more

Now our previous equalizer here you can see that it does have rubber and that's gonna allow this to kind of move up and down and have that cushion. These are pretty loose here, which is fine. It does have that movement and each of them are about I'd say an inch and a half. So you have some movement up and down and that's where putting it side by side you can see the AllTrek is not only it seems like it's a little bit taller but that's because you have four inches of movement here because you have this rubber that's supporting that weight, and as this moves up and down it's gonna be nice and even it's not gonna be sloppy and you're gonna get more of that suspension travel which allows your suspension to move a little bit more giving you a better ride overall. And that's gonna not only make for a smoother ride and kind of just be easier on your camper and it's contents but also that's gonna transmit all of that energy up to the pin box. more

Today we have a 2005 Keystone Montana and we're gonna be installing and taking a look at MORryde SRE4000 suspension upgrade kit with crossmember. So let's take a closer look at the MORryde system here. This is mounted on our camper right now, though this does have the additional upgraded hardware kit and this is something I recommend as well because with this kit you're gonna get a heavier duty shackle, these shackles are half inches thick as opposed to the stock quarter inch thick plate. Also, there's no grease fittings on these. more

Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers Installation - 2014 Jayco Pinnacle Fifth Wheel- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with the etrailer, and today we gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for tandem axle trailers, here on a 2014 Jayco Pinnacle Fifth Wheel Trailer. These heavy duty gas shocks are filled with nitrogen and what that's gonna do is help eliminate your trailers bouncing, chucking and porpoising. So when you're going over those bumpy roads you're seeing your wheels kind of flop up and down, you're getting a whole lot of vibration all the way up through your truck, and it kinda throw off your handling while you're towing as well. So it can be kind of an issue safety-wise, it's gonna help eliminate some of that and then also limit the amount of motion your trailer can go because the compression is only gonna go so far in and then so far out with the shocks. And what that's gonna do is help all that side to side movement, your up and down movement and then also your front to back movement, so that you're not getting all of that motion traveling through your trailer and then up into the tow vehicle. This is a completely bolt on installation. more

If you travel through a lot of rough terrain or maybe your highway system where you live just really isn't up to par, and you wanna address all of that road shock, and the bumping, and porpoising that you kinda get through your trailer that kind of transfers all the way up to your truck, then the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system with the shock absorbers is gonna be the solution for you. Now, the main components of this kit are gonna be your slipper springs, your slipper spring box, and then also your shock absorbers. Today, on your 2022 Grand Design, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace your standard equalizer and suspension bolts with wet bolts from Lippert. To assist us with this, we're gonna be using bronze bushings from Dexter, and we're also gonna be upgrading our equalizer to a Lippert's Road Armor. This upgraded wet bolt kit from Lippert is designed specifically to work with the Road Armor equalizer. It has slightly longer shackles than what you would typically find in this weight range, and that is to compensate for the difference in the Road Armor dimensions. Today on your 2022 Grand Design Imagine trailer, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace your factory equalizers with Road Armor equalizers from Lippert. To assist us with this installation, we're also gonna be using Lippert's wet bolt kit as well as some bronze bushings from Dexter. And this is what our Road Armor looks like when it's installed. We can see it is a replacement equalizer that's going to get rid of your old one, and our new Road Armor here has rubber dampeners inside to absorb a lot of the impacts. Also, your road armor will come equipped with bronze bushings so that way you can have a wet bolt set up to extend the life of your components. more

Hey, guys. Kevin here with etrailer. And today, we'll be showing you how to install the MORryde shock-absorbing equalizers for tandem axle trailers with a 35-inch wheelbase here on our 2009 Keystone Montana Mountaineer fifth wheel trailer. So if you drive your travel trailer or fifth wheel or even just your regular utility or dump trailer through any kinda rough terrain, or maybe you just have terrible roads where you live, they're real bumpy, maybe there's a lot of potholes, and you're just tired of feeling all of that road shock, all that chucking from your trailer as you're going down that road, the best way to first solve that is going to be upgrading your equalizer to one that actually has a rubber dampener in there. That's going to help kinda mitigate all that bouncing you have and all that road shock from those potholes and also upgrading your shackle kit and your bolts up to wet bolts, which can be lubricated. And today, we'll be showing you how to install the MORryde suspension upgrade kit with 2 1/4-inch shackle straps here on our 2018 Shasta Phoenix fifth wheel trailer. So the MORryde suspension upgrade kit is gonna come with much, much thicker shackle straps than your factory shackle straps are gonna be, which in turn is going to make them last a lot longer. You're not gonna get all this play that you might have with your factory straps. And the wet bolts that are gonna come with this kit are gonna have a Zerk fitting on 'em. more

Hey guys, Kevin here at etrailer and today I'll be showing you how to install the Dexter Axle E-Z Flex Suspension Kit here in our 2022 Jayco Jay Feather Travel Trailer. So we start our installation. We're gonna take all of the lug nuts on our wheels loose while it's still on the ground that way we're not having to fight the wheel, trying to hold it in place while we take off our lug nuts. Now that our lug nuts are off, we can go ahead and lift up our trailer. That way we can let our axles hang free. So now what you're gonna do is grab some jacks and support your axle, cuz the second that we take off our shackle bolts and our equalizer, these axles are gonna wanna just drop right down on you. more

ABS Double Eye Springs Step Bolt Installation - 5th Wheel- Video
Hi there, trailer owners. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at a replacement step bolt, in a 9/16" diameter for a 1 3/4-inch spring eye hanger. These are also known as shackle bolts. So, here we've got our old spring, and our new spring. And if we look at our old spring, you'll see, it's got a bunch of grease around the edges here. And if we look at the bushings inside of our old spring, we can see that the bushing is all worn out. more

Hi there Grand Design owners, today in your 2021 Grand Design Imagine, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Lippert Components Road Armor Equalizer kit. To help us with that, we're also going to be using a Wet Bolt Kit from Dexter. And this is what our new equalizer looks like when it's installed. The Road Armor Equalizer is an upgrade over your factory equalizer and it's going to provide a lot of dampening that the factory one just doesn't have the capabilities to do. Here you can see our factory one, and it's just a solid piece of metal, with some bushings inside of it. The bushings inside of here are going to be a plastic self-lubricating bushings, so they're supposed to be maintenance free but you can see here, the bushings are already starting to wear out. more

Hi there camper owners. Today in your 2021 Coachmen Apex Ultra Lite, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Dexter's tandem-axle equalizer and wet bolt kit. This equalizer kit is going to be a direct replacement for your factory parts, but it does come included with upgraded heavy-duty hardware. You can see our bolts are wet bolts, so you get the grease zerks in the ends, which allows you to lubricate the hardware, so it lasts a lot longer. And our shackles here that it comes with are significantly thicker on this kit than your standard ones. That's just also going to help increase the life of those components. more

And here we can see what our equalizer looks like when it's installed. You can see it's significantly larger, and it gets its road armor name from its shape. It's almost shaped kind of like a shield, and all this additional steel here is going to be a much more durable equalizer than your factory one. And you can see these rubber bumpers that's located inside. And what this does is like your old equalizer here, you can see it has no dampening whatsoever. more

Hi there, trailer owners. Today on your 2021 Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Comfort Ride shock-absorbing system. They connect between brackets that are mounted on top of your axle, here on the leaf spring stack, as well as brackets that are attached directly to the frame. With our shock in this location, you can see that when our suspension travels upward, it would compress our shock, dampening the forces that we get on the road. You'll also notice that it is angled slightly towards the center here on our equalizer. Because our axle's here with the equalizer, they do kind of work in conjunction with one another, so having the shocks at an angle like this does help out with dampening, the transfer of that motion from one axle to another, which overall reduces all that road force from reaching inside the cabin of the trailer.The angle that's best for these is a 20 to 40 degree angle, and you do have the option to choose where you put those here on the frame. more

Roadmaster Comfort Ride Suspension Installation - 2019 Keystone Raptor 5W Toy Hauler- Video
Hi there Keystone owners. Taking your 2019 Keystone Raptor, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmasters Comfort Ride suspension system.This triple axle kit is designed to improve the ride quality of your trailer over your factory equalizers by installing a brand new slipper component, which will allow your leaf springs to have free travel inside the assembly. Your traditional assemblies have equalizers and when one axle moves, that leaf spring is connected to the equalizer directly to the leaf spring on the axle behind it, and so forth. With those being connected together, loads are transferred from one to the other, and that causes a lot of oscillations inside your trailer, causes a lot of vibrations and up and down momentum, and that's what causes your cabinets to open up, your dishes to fall out, and a lot of things like that. By adding these on it's going to greatly improve the ride quality of your trailer, which is going to save all your gear that's inside, because you're no longer going to be transferring all those road forces up into the frame and your devices inside.Your trailer's not the only thing that's going to benefit from this. You're also going to notice it when hauling, when driving your truck, because with a shock absorber system and the slipper springs, we're not going to have as much sway as we did before, and that's just going to give us overall more control in the truck, so it's not going to feel like we're hauling such a beast behind us.This is what our system is going to look like when it's installed. more

Hi there Keystone owners. Today in your 2019 Keystone Montana we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Comfort Ride Shock Absorber system. And this is what our suspension system is going to look like when it's installed. Roadmaster's Comfort Ride system offers shocks, which are independent for each axle on each side. So as your trailer wants to pivot and move up and down, in addition to the suspension system it already has, we're going to get additional dampening from our shocks. This can help minimize sway, because as our trailer wants to roll to one side, the shock is going to compress, but there's force required to compress this shock and that force dampens it. more

Dexter Nylon Suspension Bushing Installation- Video

Today, I'm going to walk you through how to install the Dexter nylon suspension bushings.Suspension bushings are designed to go in the rolled ends of your springs, your leaf springs. And what it allows the springs to do is to move freely. It also creates kind of a hold on it, so there's not a gap in that spring or that rolled end of that spring doesn't move around on that bolt. The inner diameter of the bushing is going to be nine sixteenths; the outer diameter of the bushings is going to be eleven sixteenths, and they're going to be an inch and three quarters long. more

Hi there Dutchmen owners, today on your 2013 Dutchmen Voltage we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Comfort Ride Suspension System with shock absorbers. And this is what our suspension system looks like when it's installed. You can see that we've got dampening components in addition to leaf springs, where our old suspension just had leaf springs with an equalizer in the middle.The benefits we're going to get on this system over your traditional leaf springs with an equalizer is going to be on the ride quality of your trailer. So the things inside are not going to experience as much road shock and vibration as they did before. So for people that have kitchens filled with dishes and other things that they want to keep safe from rattling with the drawers opening and closing, and potential glass dishes breaking, this is a system that's going to help smooth out your trailer and keep those components inside from receiving all the shock from the road.This is mainly achieved due to the slipper box that we've got here. In a typical equalizer setup, your leaf springs are attached to the equalizer. more

Hi, there, trailer owners. Today in your 2017 Grand Design Reflection, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's comfort ride leaf spring system with shock absorbers. And this is what our system is going to look like when it's installed. We're going to be taking a look at some of the components underneath to give you a better idea of how it works. But the big thing here is you can see that we no longer have an equalizer here in the middle, as our slipper spring box takes its place. The big benefit of this is that with your equalizers, whenever you hit a bump or a pothole or anything with one axle, as it moves up or down, it will send some of those forces to the other axle causing it to move. more

Hi there, trailer owners. Today In Your 2017 Grand Design Reflection, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Dexter's E-Z Flex equalizers. And this is what our equalizers look like when they're installed. Compared to your factory equalizers, these have a dampener here in the middle. So whenever one axle goes to move, it doesn't directly affect the other one. But a lot of that force that it would be transferring from one axle to the other, is absorbed by the shock absorber pad here in the middle. more

Shane here with etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at an installation on the center point air ride suspension upgrade on a 2018 Grand Design Momentum in-class fifth wheel toy hauler. What it's going to do is it's going to make your ride much more comfortable when towing a heavy trailer like this. When you're looking to add a suspension upgrade onto your trailer, I think this is probably going to be the way to go in my opinion. If you think about putting airbags on a trailer, a trailer like this size is very heavy. Gross vehicle weight rating is 16,000 pounds plus. more

Lippert Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers Installation - 2005 K-Z New Vision- Video
Connor: Hey guys, this is Connor here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the equa-flex cushioned equalizers for our 2005 KZ New Vision Fifth Wheel Trailer. Now we have a couple different reasons you might be interested in installing the equa-flex equalizers on your trailer. Number one, if we are looking to upgrade because of the perceived increased ride quality that we have with these cushions, or number two, if we're just replacing our old cast equalizers because the bushings are worn out inside, this is going to be a great upgrade, overall. Our easy flex equalizers here are going to be an excellent option for our new vision trailer, as well as any other fifth wheel trailer, really.As you can see here, we have these two actuating arms on the side here. We also have a rubber core. more

Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit Installation - 2005 K-Z New Vision- Video
Connor: Hey guys, this is Connor here @etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Dexter E-Z Flex suspension kit for our 2005 KZ New Vision 5th wheel trailer. A Dexter E-Z Flex equalizers are going to be an excellent option for any tandem or triple axle trailer. The equalizer essentially disperses the load between the two axles. Now, all trailers are going to have an equalizer, however, most of them from the factory, are going to come with this cast equalizer here. So you can see it's pretty rigid, it's heavy-duty and it will last, however, there's no cushioning involved like there is for our Dexter equalizer here.Now our cushion equalizer here is going to do a lot to help improve the ride of our trailer, so it's not going to be as bouncy and bumpy going down the road, which is going to help keep the contents we have in our trailer in place and it's also going to help reduce the wear and tear on our factory suspension as well as help with decreasing irregular tire wares we have with our tires.So as we can see here, take a look at the equalizer. more

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm going to walk through how I installed the Dexter E-Z Flex triple axle equalizers on our 2006 Jayco fifth wheel trailer. Adding new equalizers like this to your kit or upgrading them from your factory ones is going to make your ride a lot more comfortable. You'll notice in the center it's going to have a rubber boot. That's going to take up a lot of the absorption that your factory ones don't have.The difference between our factory ones and our new ones, is you'll notice there are two different pieces. Our factory one is one solid piece of steel. more

Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers Installation - 2017 Grand Design Solitude Fifth Wheel- Video
Hi there fifth-wheel owners. Today on your 2017 Grand Design Solitude we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Comfort Ride Shock Absorber Kit for tandem axles.This is what our shock absorbers are going to look like when they're installed. Typically trailers don't have any shock absorbers, just leaf springs. These springs are a old school traditional suspension type system that does allow the axles to move separately from one another so that way you'll have good contact on the road when you're hitting uneven surfaces and when turning, but they don't really offer a whole lot as far as dampening. So a lot of that road shock is going to transfer from the road through your leaf springs up into your trailer, which can result in a lot of negative vibration that could potentially damage components and wear out the life of your trailer.It's a universal bolt on system, so it's going to be great for your larger trailers such as your fifth wheels, your toy haulers, and in your car haulers. The shock in the middle will absorb a lot of road vibrations and any sudden impacts you might have from potholes, minimizing the transfer of that energy up through the trailer inside. more

Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit Installation - 2018 Grand Design Momentum 5W Toy Hauler- Video
Today on our 2018 Grand Design Momentum Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler, we're gonna be installing Dexter's Heavy Duty Suspension kit for tandem axle trailers, part number K71-359-00.This kit is gonna be great to repair your trailer. If you've got some damaged, worn out bushings, you can use this kit to replace all those worn out components. The new components that come with it are gonna be heavy duty and greasable. What this means to you is that they're gonna be much longer lasting than your factory hardware. As long as you grease them regularly, that will greatly extend the life of your components.The brown bushings that come with the kit measure 9/16ths for the inner diameter. You'll get everything you need to replace your components for a tandem axle. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Heartland Bighorn, we're gonna be installing Dexter Axle's replacement shackle link with bolts, part number 018-026-05. These replacement shackles are gonna be a great upgrade if you have any seized, rusted, or broken shackles.The bolts having a channel for grease to flow through, and zerks at the end mean you can frequently grease them and ensure that they have a long-lasting, smooth operation.To start our installation, I've gone ahead and removed the tires, so that's gonna make our installation significantly easier. We're gonna need to access our shackles here. I do also recommend that you put some jack stands underneath both of your axles to support those, just to ensure that when you take these bolts loose and pull our shackles out, that they don't drop down too far.We can now remove our old ones. We're gonna need an 11/16 socket and a 13/16 wrench. We'll remove the nuts off of our bolts. more
